ADF responds to factual error: Ocean Grove news story

Both the Associated Press and New Jersey Star-Ledger recently published articles containing a serious factual error in regards to this case: Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association of the United Methodist Church v. Vespa-Papaleo.

The case involves the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association’s request for a court ruling affirming its constitutional right to use its private property in a manner consistent with its religious beliefs.

Here is the very serious error contained within the above mentioned publications:

"The state has since found the association violated anti-discrimination laws."

This is not true.

In fact, the DCR found that the allegations had enough substance to go to trial, but there has been no determination that OG has violated NJ’s "anti-discrimination" laws.
