Top court may hear Haskell Co. lawsuit on Ten Commandments monument (Tulsa World)

Tulsa World:  "Haskell County commissioners plan to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to hear their Ten Commandments case.

Kevin Theriot of the Alliance Defense Fund, which is representing the commissioners, said he will ask the high court to hear the case within 90 days.

The monument — erected on the Haskell County Courthouse lawn in Stigler — can stay pending the outcome of the case, he said.

Last week, the Denver-based 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals narrowly let stand an earlier decision of a three-judge panel of the appellate court. That ruling concluded that the primary effect of the monument is to endorse religion and that it therefore violates the Constitution."
